- As the human end of a pet therapy team my dog Lance and I helped patients, and their families, to overcome various barriers they faced during and throughout their individual treatments. Lance and I spent a consistent amount of our time at Primary Children’s Hospital and their psychiatric unit- Wasatch Canyons. Though, singular events also led us to spend time in elementary schools, hospice facilities, and government based community programs. Volunteering with Lance was one of the most powerful perspectives of our healthcare system that I have had the opportunity of witnessing.
