You will learn how to develop, analyze, and utilize information from a learner profile. Using Google Forms or other survey tools, participants will create forms with information that is relevant and evidence-based to inform their teaching.

Julie Baker has been collecting, analyzing, and reporting on learner profiles for over five years and will share research and anecdotes to help guide development. Participants will learn multiple ways to review information without “data overload.” Participants will learn how to share profile information with teachers, students, and others, and integrate this information into lesson planning, student self-advocacy, and more.

Workshop Learning Outcomes:

– Identify key characteristics to collect in a learner profile
– Read and interpret student responses
– Incorporate knowledge of learner characteristics into lesson plans

Workshop Learning Activities:

Participants will use Google Forms to create a learner profile relevant to them. They will take multiple samples of profiles and observe how included questions and minute details can influence responses. Participants will review the class’ responses and make suggestions of how to share as if the workshop were their own classroom.
