Typical interventions include: home exercise programs, energy conservation/work simplification, patient and caregiver education, environmental modifications for safety, medication and condition management, and train patients and caregivers on durable medical equipment use. Co-treated with physical therapy and social work as needed to meet patient goals.  Provided in-service training to occupational therapy home health staff on caregiver burden and provided staff resources to use with patient caregivers.  Trained on EPIC documentation, including OASIS discharge procedures.

Level 1-C: Virtual Pediatric Fieldwork through SimuCase

Fall, 2020. Virtual fieldwork experience due to COVID-19 pandemic. Simulation cases of varying complexity included videos of clients performing assessments, participating in relevant interventions, and therapist interactions with caregivers. Case elements included typical and atypical development, commonly treated pediatric diagnoses, and interprofessional collaboration. Group discussion addressed topics of occupational justice present in educational settings. I gained experience in documentation using the SOAP note format.

Level 1-D: Virtual Adulthood Fieldwork through SimuCase

Fall, 2020. Virtual fieldwork experience due to COVID-19 pandemic. Simulation cases of varying complexity included videos of clients performing assessments and participating in relevant interventions. In-depth readings and case scenarios included client factors related to lymphedema, developmental disability, cancer, cancer-related fatigue, and depression. I designed treatment plans for three case scenarios, including assessments, interventions, goal writing, and planning. I refined my documentation skills using the SOAP note format.
