We are seeking an outstanding Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to fill a full time position at our urgent care clinic. A minimum of one year of urgent care or emergency medicine work experience is required. Full time is 3 shifts per week. We are open 7 days a week, so some weekend shifts are required. Our practice is a mix of urgent care, occupational medicine, and family medicine. We have two clinicians on duty together 7 days a week. We have few appointments; most of our patients are walk-ins. With x-ray, ECG, spirometry, audiometry and CLIA-waived labs on site, we see simple fractures, laceration repairs and acute illness; do employment and DMV exams and workers compensation injuries. You must be able to do simple and intermediate laceration repairs, remove foreign bodies from skin and eyes, be able to read xray to diagnose, do punch biopsies, remove lumps and bumps, treat nosebleeds, and other procedures.We use EMR’s, so computer skills are a must. This is a fast paced walk-in urgent care clinic with more than 15,000 annual visits drawn from western Nevada County’s residents, plus the many visitors to this tourist destination. Situated at an elevation of 2500 to 3500 feet, Grass Valley and Nevada City (4 miles apart and considered our neighborhood) offers four seasons and lies within 40 miles of the California Central Valley and the 9,000 foot peaks of the High Sierra. With rivers, lakes, mountains and meadows, it is a natural attraction for snow and water skiers, fisher folk, kayakers, sailors, hikers, road and mountain bikers and everyone who enjoys the great outdoors, whatever the season. We are a tourist destination so although our area is not metropolitan, we have many other amenities.
