We are pleased to announce that Dr. Eric Anctil will be providing the keynote address, TechnoHumans in the Age of Mass Disruption, at this year’s conference.
Dr. Anctil is the author of Selling Higher Education: Marketing and Advertising America’s Colleges and Universities, Curriculum Leadership: Readings for Developing Quality Educational Programs, and Curriculum Planning: A Contemporary Approach is Associate Professor of Education at the University of Portland where he has taught since 2008. Prior to teaching at the University of Portland, Dr. Anctil was on the faculty at Washington State University-Pullman from 2003-2008. A former middle and high school teacher, Dr. Anctil received a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a master’s degree from Portland State University, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon. He began teaching in higher education as an adjunct community college instructor in 1999. Dr. Anctil’s scholarly work broadly centers on P-20 education and the nexus of media, technology, innovation, and the curriculum. He has written on the role big-time college sports plays within higher education and the impact of social networking on college student identity. His newest interest is studying the implications of mobile technology on student learning and identity development for students and teachers in K-20 education. Dr. Anctil regularly works with and consults elementary schools, high schools, post-secondary institutions, and private and non-profit businesses about issues related to technology in the curriculum, professional development, and building 21st-century schools.
