Course Projects
OTD 631 | Community Based Practice II (Pacific University, Spring Semester 2019)
- Description: Course focused on learning and applying program development processes to assume leadership roles of consultant, entrepreneur, and advocate within health and social services. In preparation for a trip to Salem to visit Oregon State Legislature, we created an advocacy handout with fellow classmates to hand out to state legislators regarding occupational therapy and school-based practice. Full permission to publicly publish the project was acquired.

OTD 670 | OT Process: Adult: Neurological (Pacific University, Fall Semester 2018)
- Description: Course focused on evaluations and interventions to promote daily life participation for adults experiencing neurological conditions. Paired with a student partner, we were provided a case study and some evaluation/screening forms for “Steve”. Based on the information in the provided case, there were questions given to us to answer within the context of different stages and settings of rehabilitation. Full permission to publicly publish the project was acquired.

OTD 681 | Scholarship and Evidence-Based Practice II (Pacific University, Summer Semester 2018)
- Description: Course focused on qualitative research methods, and involved designing and carrying out a full scholarly qualitative study within an eight week semester. Collaborating with three other student colleagues, our group of four developed and performed a qualitative study regarding concussion management within the realm of occupational therapy practice. Specifically, we studied how competent, prepared, and satisfied current occupational therapy practitioners in various settings feel about treating concussions. Full permission to publicly publish the project was acquired.

NPB 101L | Systemic Physiology Laboratory (UC Davis, Winter Quarter 2016)
- Description: This rigorous course was a prerequisite for occupational therapy program admission. Students were assigned to small groups of three, and were asked to complete eight lab experiments together throughout the quarter. Each student had to individually write two scientific lab reports based on the aforementioned experiments. I completed the lab and collected data in class with the help of my group members, however, the lab report and all figures/tables are entirely my own work. This lab report demonstrates my ability to write scientifically and concisely, compile data and create comprehensive figures/tables, and to present a formally written and objective piece.
- Please click here to view one of my lab reports, titled The Effects of Epinephrine, Methacholine, Adenosine-5′-diphosphate, and Calcium on Intestinal Motility.

Occupational Therapy Association of Oregon (OTAO) Conference – Poster Presentation 2018
- Description: Based on the critical appraisal of post-concussion recovery protocols completed in OTD 581: Scholarship and Evidence-Based Practice I (Pacific University, Spring Semester 2018). This poster is a summary of that critical appraisal, and was presented at the annual 2018 OTAO Conference in Portland, OR. There is background information on concussions/mTBIs, and information on why occupational therapy practitioners should be competent and educated on best recovery/rehab practices. The poster includes a clinical question, a summary of literature, the clinical bottom line, implications for practice, and a proposed future study. Full permission to publicly publish the project was acquired.
