My name is Lesleigh Kowalski Frank. I have been an occupational therapist for ten years, graduating from Pacific University in 2009 with my Masters of Occupational Therapy. Shortly after graduation I moved to Maryland and worked at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Kennedy Krieger Institute. While there I obtained my Assistive Technology Professional certification and specialized in seating/mobility and splinting/casting. I then moved to Alaska in 2014. I currently work at Providence Alaska Medical Center in inpatient pediatrics and taught as an adjunct faculty member for the Creighton University distance-pathway OTD program through University of Alaska. I’ve had amazing opportunities throughout my career thus far in rural and urban facilities and have dabbled in OT in most settings: home health, hospice, acute, long term care, feeding/swallowing, outpatient, pediatrics, NICU, splinting/casting, seating/positioning, and burn management.

My dissertation research examines lung cancer detection throughout the patient, provider, and system continuum.

I also am a mother to two little gals: a 3 year-old and a nearly 6 year-old. When I am not working I love spending time with them, our dog, and my husband. We can usually be found exploring Alaska or baking treats when it’s too cold to go outside. I love to practice my amateur photography skills and write about motherhood, living in Alaska, and healthcare.
