I am a Professor of Education in the School of Learning & Teaching and Director for the School of Learning & Teaching (SLT) on the Forest Grove campus. My background is in human development & education, applied cognitive science, and learning technologies. During my 20+ years as an educational practitioner, I have taught courses such as applied developmental psychology, educational technology, educational research, critical perspectives, & learning communities. My research and consultancy pursuits involve using design thinking for creating virtual learning spaces and communities of inquiry; developing knowledge media based programs and learning objects; and integrating technology for professional growth. My passions include critical social justice, systems thinking, open education, and the performing arts.
